Day 2: Explore Sethan, Panduropa, Igloo Snow Point, Hamta Hydel Project Dam, Jobri River and Hamta Meadows near Chikka Campsite and return to Sethan

Today will be a long day. We will wake up early, have our breakfast and take the packed lunch boxes in our bags and head for the ultimate adventure. Initially after 5 minute walk we will reach the same stream that we came across during our acclimatization walk. We will start climbing through the cliff while keeping along the river stream and reach the top of the mountain in approx 30 minutes. We will reach in the middle of a beautiful forest with large boulders and cliffs welcoming us, this was the only tough climb in our way. Now since most part of the incline is over, we will head towards left and start walking towards Sethan Village on a kuccha road. After reaching Sethan we will come across a small village like settlement with a few houses with a mix of modern and ancient architecture. Some shops and dhabas and some guest houses. This is the last human settlement we will encounter during the trek.

Situated at 2700 Meters this tiny village is home to a handful of families who live in this beautiful paradise they call their home. Nowadays due to popularity of Sethan Village for Snow activities like Igloo, Skiing, Snow boarding, Zipline etc many of them choose to stay here during the harsh cold winters, but before the town had become popular these local families who are mostly Buddhists use to migrate during the winters to kullu valley.

Sethan has its own share of mythological tales associated with it. It’s home to a tiny hamlet called panduropa (literally meaning where Pandavas did cultivation). Panduropa apart from being a famous bouldering destination in India is also home to a mythological lake where paddy miraculously grows every year on its own and a wonderful rock cave called Arjun Gufa which holds its secrets and numerous artifacts of Buddhists, a shivalingam, pictures of hindu and Buddhist deities and several conch shells.

Sethan is also famous for many summers and winter hiking and camping activities. Famous Treks and Expeditions which start from here are Hamta Pass 4300 Meters, Trek to Chikka, Jobri River and Hamta Meadows, Kharmandiali, Sethan Dome (4000 Meters), Hamta Circle and also the famous Indrasan Peak Expedition (literally meaning thrown of the Gods) at an impressive altitude of 6200 Meters

Sethan Skii Slopes are considered one of the best in the country minus the crowd and the pollution along with over priced stays you get at popular ski destinations like Gulmarg and Auli.

Sethan offers perfect powdery white snow which is ideal for snowboarding and ski minus the wait times and pollution.

We will trek east from Sethan towards Panduropa, Jobri and Hamta Meadows and then return back to our guest house.

In the evening enjoy dinner, bonfire with some great food. You will be provided hot water bags, enough quilts and blankets to keep you warm in snow and freezing weater.

Day 3: Trek from Sethan to Prini and transport to Manali town.

In the morning we will have an early breakfast and trek back to Prini Village via the same route. Upon arrival in Prini our cabs will be waiting for us to transport us back to Manali. Spend some time shopping on exploring Manali town and nearby areas like Hadimba Temple, Mall Road, Old Manali Market, Manu Temple, Jogini Falls or Vashisht Kund etc at your own leisure
