Glamping in Sethan, Manali: The Complete Guide (2026)
Sethan is a tiny Himalayan village in the Hamta Valley, about 12 km above Manali on the road towards the Hampta Pass trek. At roughly 8,500 ft (2,600 m), it has become one of the best places in Himachal for glamping: quiet pine forests, snow for much of the winter, and wide views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. This guide covers how to get here, when to come, and what staying at Nirvana Hamta Retreat is like.
Why glamp in Sethan instead of Manali town?
Views: from our hilltop at Curve 30 you look down on Manali town and straight across to snow-capped peaks.
Snow: Sethan usually gets far more snowfall than Manali, making it a favourite winter escape.
Peace: no traffic or crowds — just pine trees, stars and the sound of the valley.
Adventure on your doorstep: Sethan sits on the route to the Hampta Pass trek and the Hamta Valley.

How to reach Sethan from Manali
Sethan is about 12 km by road from the Manali Volvo bus stand. The road climbs through Prini and up the Hampta AD Hydro Project road; Nirvana Hamta Retreat is at Curve No. 30. Local taxis from Manali typically cost ₹1,500–2,000 one way, and we're happy to help you arrange transport in advance. The final stretch to the property involves a short walk and some steps, so travel light and wear good shoes. We send detailed directions to every guest right after booking.
