Day Trips from Sethan: Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel and Old Manali

1 min read

One of the best things about staying in Sethan is that you get peace and quiet at night, but Manali's big sights are still within easy reach by day. Here are the day trips our guests enjoy most, all planned around a return to the hilltop for sunset and a bonfire.

Solang Valley

Solang is Manali's adventure playground — paragliding and ropeway rides in the warmer months and snow activities in winter. Go early to beat the crowds and the afternoon traffic.

Atal Tunnel and Sissu

The Atal Tunnel takes you under the Pir Panjal range into Lahaul, where the landscape changes completely. Sissu, just beyond the tunnel, is a popular stop for its waterfall and wide valley views. Check road and weather status before you go, especially in winter.

Old Manali and the Mall Road

Spend an afternoon wandering Old Manali's cafes, visiting the Hadimba Temple among the deodars, and picking up souvenirs on the Mall Road.

Planning tips

  • Leave early — mountain traffic builds through the day.

  • Keep an eye on weather; road conditions can change quickly in winter.

  • Ask us the evening before and we'll help you plan the day and arrange a taxi.
